With Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby falling on the same day, this is a weekend for celebration. Whether you prefer tequila shots or Bourbon drinks, you’ll have no trouble finding a party serving up your alcohol of choice. We’re still trying to solidify our weekend party plans. Here are our top picks!

Beach Party. Tonight MFA’s First Friday hosts a beach-themed bash in Honor of the Alex Katz Prints exhibit. After a week of rain, take this excuse to wear shorts and sandals. Artists will be on hand to draw portraits and souvenir photos will be available.

Cinco de Mayo. Celebrate this Mexican holiday at one of our favorite locations. Our top picks vary in price and in authenticity. We love Fajitas and Ritas in Downtown Crossing, El Centro in the South End, and near the Waterfront at Papagayo. Boston.com also has a list of Cinco de Mayo fiestas.

Kentucky Derby. Ladies, grab your widest brimmed hat and attend a Derby Party. Place your bets and sip a mint julep before the race begins. Here’s a list of Kentucky Derby viewing parties.

A Little Bit Country. Lady Antebellum performs on Saturday at the DCU Center in Worcestor. Yeah, they’re a little bit country, but they also have a number of fun pop hits.

SoWa Sunday. May 6 marks the beginning of the 2012 season of the SoWa Open Market. Shop for newly made crafts or old time antiques. You can also grab a meal from your favorite food trucks.

Pretty in Pink. We love a glass of pretty, pink rosé, especially during warmer months. Visit the Urban Grape on Sunday afternoon to taste over 20 rosé wines. Now is the perfect time to stock up for summer picnics and parties.
