The Weekender: June 3-5

We are thrilled to announce our new series, The Weekender. Each Friday, we’ll be sharing weekend highlights with you that we think are worth checking out. There’s so much going on in Boston, especially during the summer months. We decided to pick and choose the best of the best, so that you can go relax outside with a lemonade instead of scouring online calendars for weekend events.

It is the first weekend in June and suffice to say, summer is finally here. Hooray! Here are our five picks for this weekend:

Cultural Survival Bazaar. I love all festivals. Especially ones that include art and music. Click here to view the performance schedule. Saturday, Copley Square, 10am to 6pm, free.

Namaste. Every Saturday, The Liberty Hotel offers free yoga classes in their courtyard (it is held indoors during the colder months). The classes are led by Equinox instructors and are free! Don’t forget to bring your own mat. Saturday, The Liberty Hotel, 1oam, free.

Fresh from the Market. Union Square’s farmers market opens tomorrow! I love to wander through markets, taking photos and usually scooping something delicious up for lunch. To see a full list of vendors, including a personal favorite, Taza Chocolate, click here. Saturday, Union Square, Somerville, 9am to 1pm, free.

Mr. Saturday Night. With the release of a new album, Julian Velard will be bringing his soulful pop to Cafe 939. Also appearing will be Jason Myles Goss. Friday, Cafe 939, 8pm, $12, purchase tickets.

Rock and Cruise. What’s better than rock and blues aboard a boat? Sunday, World Trade Center Pier, 3pm, $30, purchase tickets.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com.
