The Weekender: June 10-12

It is the second weekend in June and our first summer heat wave has finally broken! Here are our five picks for this weekend:

Loud and Proud. This weekend Boston is celebrating Pride. I’m so excited for an explosion of rainbows during Pride Parade on Saturday.  Saturday, route from the South End through the Back Bay to City Hall Plaza, 12 pm, free.

Seeing Red. Sophisticated and sensual, Boston’s newest Asian restaurant Red Lantern opened on June 8th.  Stop by this weekend to scope out the scene and dine on delicious Asian cuisine. Saturday and Sunday, Red Lantern, 39 Stanhope Street, Boston, 4 pm-1:30 am.

On the Run. The South End Athletic Company hosts their weekly group long run on Saturday morning at 10 am.  With varying routes each week, you get a good workout while seeing different sights around town.  Saturday, SEAC, 652 Tremont St, Boston, 10 am, free.

Marco, Polo. Myopia Polo hosts weekly polo matches until early October.  With tailgating allowed before and during matches, there’s sure to be preppy fun for all. Sunday, Myopia Polo, 435 Bay Road, South Hamilton, 3 pm, $10.

High Flying Fun. Live out your circus fantasies and take a trapeze class with TSNY Beantown.  I’d love to learn how to twist gracefully using long pieces of silk, so glamorous!  Saturday and Sunday, TSNY Beantown, 50 Walkers Brook Drive, Reading, check the website for schedule and rates.
