The Weekender: June 17-19

Hooray! Another Friday has come and we sure are glad. As you may know, this weekend is Father’s Day. We’re planning on spoiling our fathers with lots of love and homemade treats.

We’d love to hear how you’re celebrating your dad (or male figure) in your life! Spill the details (and photos) on our Facebook page! We love hearing your ideas.

Here are our five picks for this weekend:

Go Bruins! Sara Ross of Kickass Cupcakes created a Lucky Bruins Cupcake back during Game 3. She’ll be offering the mini cupcake she created for free (while supplies last). To catch a glimpse of the Stanley Cup and the beloved team, don’t miss the championship parade. Saturday, Kickass Cupcakes, 378 Highland Avenue, Somerville, free.  Saturday, Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Parade, visit boston.com for route information, 11am, free.

Between the Sheets. Forty Winks in Harvard Square is hosting a trunk show featuring Between the Sheets lingerie line. The designer, Layla, will be there to meet and greet. Forty Winks will be offering refreshments and of course a few raffle prizes! Also, attendees can take 15% off any one item in the store or 20% off a piece in the Between the Sheets collection. Grab your girlfriends for this fun event! Saturday, Forty Winks, 56 JF Kennedy Street, Cambridge, 1-5pm, free.

Shop and Talk. Boston Event Guide is throwing a bash this weekend designed for the shopper within you. An array of fashion designers, delicious food, beauty products and so much more. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to score a luxury gift bag!  Saturday, Venu and Rumor, 100 Warrenton Street, Boston, 11am-2:30pm/3-7pm, $10/$20/$30/$40. For more information, visit our previous post. To purchase tickets, visit the Boston Event Guide.

Fine Dining and Philanthropy. Many restaurants in the Greater Boston area have rallied to donate and help the western Massachusetts towns effected by the tornadoes. Several participating restaurants including: Bondir, Dante, Myers + Chang, and Taranta will be donating all or a portion of their proceeds this weekend. To see a full list of participating restaurants and additional details, please visit here.

Girls Night: The Musical. I am not one to turn down theatre, especially musicals. This is a show bursting with energy and some of the greatest songs that will be sure to get your booty shaking! For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Stoneham Theatre’s website.
