The Weekender: June 24-26

Here are our five picks for this weekend:

The General. Dispatch, an American indie/roots band, will be performing at the TD Garden Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.  Did you know that Dispatch has Boston roots?  The band members moved to Boston after graduating from college to work on their music and hone the band’s sound.

Breakfast for Lunch. Brunch is one of my favorite weekend activities and Boston isn’t short on great brunch locations.  This weekend I’m hoping to visit Flour for a tasty meal!  Flour has 3 locations: Central Square, Fort Point, and the South End.

A Thousand Miles. Doo doo doo doot doot.  Vanessa Carlton brings me back to my college years and if you’ve seen White Chicks, you’re bound to be a fan of her most popular song.

Shop and Snack. Wander to the Waterfront to visit Louis and shop for designer fashions, home goods, and accessories.  While you’re there, stop by Sam’s for lunch, dinner, or even Sunday brunch.

For the Birds. Franklin Park Zoo‘s Aussie Aviary is home to hundreds of colorful free-flying birds.  The lack of cages will allow you to have an interactive experience with your new feathered friends.  The Aussie Aviary  birds seem like a lot more fun than being surrounded by gray pigeons in Copley Square.
