The Weekender: July 29-31
The Great Pie Experiment. Do you love pie, contests and good fun? This Sunday from 12-3pm, competitors will unite for a chance to showcase the best pie in town. Up for grabs? Lots of amazing prizes including cash and an opportunity to go to Brooklyn for the All-Star Championship Cook-Off. For a chance to enter your drool-worthy pie, or if you want to just kick back and enjoy some of the delicious pies (and beer!), be sure to check out The Food Experiments for more information. Also awesome? A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Food Project.
All the World’s A Stage. Join Shakespeare and the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company this weekend in the Boston Commons for All’s Well That Ends Well. It is the season for outdoor events and Shakespeare in the common has become a beloved tradition. The show runs through August 14.
Cycle. Hubway is here! Public bikes, which can be found in many cities around the world, have finally made their appearance in Boston. Take your inaugural ride this weekend. Check out Hubway for rates, locations, and more. Don’t forget to wear a helmet!
Single and Ready to Mingle? Fifteen of Boston’s most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes will be auctioned off at Down Ultra Lounge this Friday evening. The highest bidder will win a date, but will also be feeling good as the proceeds benefit the Boston Children’s Chorus and CHOSA, a South African Children’s Charity.
Hop Hop Hop! This Sunday, beer lovers will unite in Brookline at The Publick House for Beer Advocate’s 7th Annual Hop Head Throwdown. Proceeds from this event will benefit the MS Society. For a full list of beers that will be served and more information, visit the event’s website.
