The Weekender: September 2-5

Finally, a long weekend! A very happy Friday to you! And an even happier Labor Day Weekend! What are your plans? As always, we’d love to know! If you’re looking for a few great ways to celebrate the weekend, here are our picks.

Festival Season is Officially Here! This weekend, head out to Topsfield for the 33rd Annual New England Arts & Crafts Festival. Starting tomorrow and going through Monday, the festival will be open for craft demonstrations, delicious festival food, and of course lots of arts & crafts. Our favorite part? Leashed pets are welcome!

Chocolate Lovers Unite. Head to Taza Chocolate’s factory in Somerville for a choc-full of goodness tour. We’re big fans of Taza and learn best by seeing and doing, especially when it involves food. For more information and tour times, be sure to visit their website.

Fall = Beer. The 2nd Annual Mass Brewers Fest will take place this evening at The World Trade Center. There will be food, live music and over 80 beers to taste, including one of our favorites, Cisco Brewers out of Nantucket! Yum.

On Exhibit. The stunning photography of Scott Goetz and art work by Caryn King will be on display through this weekend at the Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary Gallery in Sharon. The exhibit has been noted to be a powerful interpretation of the ties between animals.

Apple Picking Season is Open! Head to Honey Pot Hill Orchards this weekend to pick your own apples! Be sure to grab an apple cider doughnut while you’re there — and maybe even stay for a hay ride.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful long weekend!

PS. Are you on foursquare? The Boston Day Book is and we love to see where our friends are dining, relaxing and traveling! Be sure to add us so we can connect.
