The Weekender: September 9-11

Technically, it’s still summer. With this week’s rain showers long gone, this weekend is the perfect time to get out and about. There are festivals, concerts, outdoor dining at local restaurants, and so much more for you to explore in and around Boston.

Celebrities In Town. Lewis Black is performing standup comedy and the Dropkick Murphys are rockin out at Fenway Park. Ryan Reynolds has been spotted shopping on Charles Street. Will you spot any celebrities out and about in Boston this weekend?

Dance the Night Away. Kick up your heels at the Seaport Boston Hotel. Ballroom Dance New England will be offering Latin and traditional ballroom dance lessons from 7-10 pm for just $25 per person.

Celebrate the Arts. (åhts): The Boston Arts Festival is a weekend-long event. Visit Columbus Park on Saturday or Sunday to check out visual art displays, Boston Ballet dancers, the guys from Blue Man Group, Opera Boston singers, and celebrate the artsy side of Boston.

Crazy for Crepes. Dore Creperie, located at One Beacon Street in downtown Boston, is handing out free crepes from 12 pm-3 pm on Saturday. My only question is: will the crepes be savory or sweet? You can also sign up for one of their Thursday night crepe making classes.

Remembering 9/11. Take some to remember the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks. It’s been ten years since the terrible events on September 11th and America is still trying to heal.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. We hope you have a lovely September weekend!
