The Weekender: September 30-October 2

There are SO many exciting events spread across New England this weekend. While we’re content to simply sit and watch the leaves slowly change colors, there’s no time to relax when there’s so much fun to be had.

Fair-y Tale. Country fairs have popped up all over New England this weekend. For starters, the Big E is in its final weekend, King Richard’s Faire is celebrating Medieval times, the Topsfield Fair is open for business. Verill Farm is also hosting the how2heroes Hoedown on Sunday, complete with a pig roast!

Run for Fun. Running can be fun and it can be a great way to raise money for a good cause. Sign up for the Brain Tumor Walk at Castle Island on Saturday. Sprint through cranberry bogs during the Harwich Cranberry Harvest Half Marathon and 7.3 mile race on Sunday.

Octoberfest. Grab your lederhosen and lift your beer stein. It’s time to celebrate Octoberfest. There are lots of Octoberfest events in honor of this German drinking holiday in Boston all weekend so check out our favorites.

Foods and Fests. Eating and music, two of our favorite ways to pass the time. You’ll probably find us chowing down at the Boston Local Food Fest and then dancing to the beat at HONK! Fest. Don’t forget about CollegeFest, and the CitySprouts Harvest Festival too!

Have you made plans for this weekend? Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com.
