The In-Between Week

Christmas trees have been thrown to the curb, holiday lights taken down, but the holidays aren’t quite over yet! Many people are working this week, but the city is quiet and the excitement of a new year is mounting. If you have the opportunity, use these next few days to relish quiet moments in the city.

A few recommendations:

Stroll the Museum Halls. As the temperature drops this week, spend time roaming the art-filled halls of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Pay a visit to Shinique Smith’s work and the Hollywood Glamour exhibit, which is devoted to fashion and jewelry from the silver screen. The ICA is also a wonderful place to spend time and find inspiration. We recommend visiting Adriana Varejão’s exhibit, the provocative Brazilian artist whose first USA exhibit is right here in Boston!

Catch a Matinee! There are so many great films out. On our must-see list: The Imitation Game and Foxcatcher. Our favorite theatre? We love the Coolidge – one of our favorite independently owned and operated movie theatres. Plus, those plush red seats!

A Winter Wonderland. In my opinion, few things are more romantic than an afternoon ice skate date followed by hot cocoa. This week, hit up our favorite places to ice skate including the Frog Pond, the community ice rink in Kendall Square, and at the Boston Harbor Hotel along the wharf.
