Wearable Art at Copley Place

Erin Robertson Collection (2)

I was strolling through Copley Place the other day and I stumbled upon Wearable Art, a free exhibit produced by MassArt fashion design students. The pieces are really neat and texturial – created with both convention and unconventional materials, including coffee straws, soda cans, and plastic spoons.

Among the students, the work of two senior students is especially compelling. Erin Robertson’s collection, an_illusion, features woven, felted, and digitally-composed designs that form optical illusions. Emelie Bergh’s collection, Second Shift, features garments created with intricate details using sustainably-sourced fabrics. The exhibit will be on display in the center court at Copley Place through Saturday, October 17th.
