Have you seen The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou? The Wes Anderson movie is a portrayal of a Jacques Cousteau-like ocean explorer in a quirky revenge tale. The soundtrack features Seu Jorge singing David Bowie songs, of which Bowie said “had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs acoustically in Portuguese I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.”

The Brazilian singer and songwriter grew up in the favelas, and taught himself to play several instruments. Jorge’s music spans genres – from samba to pop and electronica – and he has collaborated with Beck, Taleb Kweli, Thievery Corporation, Bebel Gilberto and many more. On February 12, see him live at Berklee School of Music! Tickets and more info here.
