Mayor’s Holiday Special
For the 13th year, the Mayor’s Holiday Special will offer special deals on performing arts over the next two months. Over 500 performances are included, as well as free events throughout the city! The Mayor’s office has partnered with ArtsBoston, the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Highland Street Foundation among others to provide discounted tickets — such a great way to explore what the city has to offer!
Tickets are available at the Mayor’s Holiday Special website, as well as the ArtsBoston booths at Copley Square and Faneuil Hall. Lots of local favorites are on the list, including the Christmas Revels, The Nutcracker (from Boston Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Josè Mateo Ballet Theatre, Tony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker, as well as the Worcester Area Ballet), the Boston Holiday Pops, Langston Hughes’ Black Nativity, and Handel’s Messiah. This initiative allows our cultural institutions to share their talents with more people, and last year’s special deals were estimated to have added more than $54 million to the local economy through shopping, dining, and parking.
“The holidays are a special time for all of us to create lifetime memories with our family and friends, taking in some of the amazing performances Boston is known for,” said Catherine Peterson, Executive Director at ArtsBoston. “We want everyone to have the chance to enjoy these holiday performances and the Mayor’s Holiday Special creates that opportunity, making it easy and affordable to share the joy of the holiday season through arts and culture.” Sounds good to us!
