The Weekender: January 6-8

boston-weekend-events

I’m still surprised to be writing dates in 2017! The past year went by so quickly — I am looking forward to having a little time this weekend to think about the new year. Hope you have a wonderful few days!

First Fridays. It’s the first Friday of 2017, and of the month! The monthly first Friday events at the MFA and SoWa are great ways to start off the year with a toast and a dose of art.

Seasonal City Hall. The winter festival on City Hall Plaza reopens today for January and February programming. The holiday market is closed, but it certainly will still be a fun place to people-watch, ice skate, and have a hot cocoa!

Winter Markets. Missing the outdoors farmers’ markets? So are we! But there are some great winter indoor options. Every Saturday for the next few months, you can get your market fix at the winter market at the Armory in Somerville. The newly-opened Eataly and the Boston Public Market are also great spots to browse the stall and pick up some local produce and products.

No Pants. The yearly ImprovEverywhere event No Pants Subway Ride is taking place this Sunday. We have never participated or seen the event, but the videos make us laugh. Find out more here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
