The Weekender: January 13-16

boston-weekend-events

Happy Friday! There are lots of great things happening in Boston this weekend, and for many people it’s a three day weekend as we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. this Monday. Hope you have a great few days.

A Winter Block Party. Don’t let the short and dark days get you down! Celebrate the weekend (and this amazing spring-like weather) in Everett’s Fermentation District tonight from 5-11pm with Short Path Distillery, Night Shift Brewing, and Bone Up Brewing. Beer and cocktails for all! More information here.

25 Years of Guster. High school can be summed up in many ways, but attending live shows of my favorite bands brings me right back to those years. This weekend you can re-live those days with a 25th anniversary celebration of Guster, and if you’re a real die-hard, you can attend all four shows. Details here.

Frozen Fenway. I’m not the biggest hockey fan around, but going to Fenway Park is always a fun time. The annual Frozen Fenway event ends on Monday. If hockey isn’t your thing, you can catch a 45-minute figure skating show. More details and tickets here.

Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. If you have the day off on Monday, it’s so important to remember the reason behind the holiday. Honor Martin Luther King, Jr. this coming Monday with the nation’s longest running MLK Jr. event or get inspired at the MFA with free admission all day (and be sure to check out the William Merritt Chase exhibit).

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
