The Weekender: February 3-5

It’s hard to believe that we are one month into 2017 already! It has been such a tumultuous few weeks — we shared some of our thoughts in our latest newsletter. (If you aren’t on the list, but would like to see us in your inbox each month, be sure to sign up here.) Hope you are taking care of yourselves, and have a wonderful weekend. Here are a few ideas:

Best Dressed. If you love to get fancy on Valentine’s Day, but don’t want to buy another dress, this is an event for you! Tonight from 7-9pm, Best Dressed is hosting a special evening at their Southie location. All cocktail dress and accessories rentals will be 20% off, a few other special guests will be in attendance, plus enjoy treats and bubbly. Find out more and RSVP on eventbrite here.

Year of the Rooster. Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a free day at the MFA this Saturday. From 10am-5pm, the museum hosts visitors with activities, demonstrations, and performances exploring Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese traditions.

Some Like It Hot. A chili cook-off comes to Harvard Square on Saturday. Stop by Brattle Plaza from 1-2:30pm to sample and vote! More here.

Silent Disco Snow Day. Well, this sounds fun and so unusual! After enjoying some chili (see above), join up with other outdoor dance enthusiasts with smart phone and headphones to all press play on the same 1-hour mix and dance (silently) through the streets together. Enjoy the after party and warm up at the Charles Hotel. What a fun event to participate in or see pass by. More here.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
