The Weekender: May 5-7

Milo is on a nap strike at the moment, so I’ve been taking plenty of walks to get him to nap in the stroller. Isn’t this the most magical time of year? I love the fall (and summer, too) but the blossoming trees and beautiful spring breeze are making me rethink spring as a top contender for best time of the year. In true spring fashion, it looks like this weekend will be a rainy one. We hope you have a great few days, and stay cozy and warm.

Al Fresco Cocktails. Everett’s Short Path Distillery is launching a 1,600 outdoor patio today. Stop by for cocktails, live music, and a food truck. More info here.

Greenway Market Opens! In its 7th season, the Greenway Open Market features area artists, designers, and craft makers. This Saturday, pop by the Wharf District Parks of the Rose Kennedy Greenway to shop local art, eat at the food trucks, and enjoy this beautiful green space.

Read-a-thon at the Museum of Fine Arts. Have you seen the Robert McCloskey exhibit at the MFA? This weekend, celebrate the 75th anniversary of Make Way for Ducklings as celebrities read stories and make duck-inspired art at the museum. Free with museum admission; more information here.

SoWa Art Walk. Celebrate the talented artists community in the South End at this weekend’s SoWa Art Walk. Meet the artists in their studios, view the latest gallery exhibitions, and more. Due to the rain, Saturday’s events are canceled, but Sunday is still on.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
