Maracas Beach in Trinidad
Boston is getting pounded by yet another snow storm. The weather outside is frightful so I’m trying to stay positive by dreaming about tropical vacations.
In 2006, I was lucky enough to spend a few days vacationing in Trinidad. One of my favorite memories is Maracas Beach. A scenic and slightly scary drive through the mountains on Trinidad’s northern edge lead to this gorgeous beach. The beach is protected by a deep bay, making the water warm and tranquil. Across from the beach, various huts sell freshly made Bake and Shark, deep fried shark stuffed into deep fried batter.
Forget snow shovels. I’m dreaming of sand and sunscreen!
