Beacon Hill ranks at the top of the list of my favorite places in Boston. I’ll often wander down Charles Street and then turn onto one of the quiet and hilly streets to enjoy an afternoon stroll.
Brick sidewalks and window boxes filled with fresh flowers capture the charming spirit of the neighborhood. I have fun admiring the door knockers in the shape of every animal imaginable. I’ve seen a lion, a swan, a whale’s tail, and a horseshoe crab just to name a few.
While Mount Vernon Street and Louisburg Square are the popular areas for Bostonians and tourists alike, I prefer to escape to the lesser know streets. These streets are calm and peaceful with barely a car or pedestrian in sight. I’ve discovered small corner shops, gated alleys, and plenty of Beacon Hill allure.
