The Weekender: September 23-25
This weekend’s weather forecast may seem a bit dim, but there’s always something fabulous going on to take your mind off of the rain. It is officially fall and we couldn’t be happier. Here are our picks for a sunny state of mind weekend!
The Fashionista Inside. Boston Fashion Week starts today! Not to worry if the runway isn’t your thing; fashion week extends beyond the tent. The city will come alive with community events for all. On our radar? High Tea at the Mandarin Oriental Boston, Fine Art Fête at Mass Art Made (Mass Art’s students are so talented!), learn how to do makeup like a professional at the Boston Center for Adult Education, and of course, the 2nd Annual Sip & Swap.
DotPark Gala. This is a big weekend for Dorchester Park. A gala underneath the stars, pancake breakfast, a “DotPops” Concert, and a car show featuring antique and classic beauties. A little something for everyone.
A Week in Review. Don’t forget about these goodies we wrote about this week. More enjoyment for the weekend ahead! Tomato, tomato, a little pampering goes a long way, food festival at Fenway, and a festival about gooey marshmallow goodness.
Play That Sax. Once again, the South End will transform into a giant block party this weekend for the Berklee Beantown Jazz Fest. Along with music greats, there will be vendors and of course amazing barbecue food.
The View From Here. Have you always wanted to learn how to rock climb? Maybe you were a bit timid or the timing wasn’t right? Well, if you’re feeling it this time around, now’s your chance! This weekend, The Boston Rock Gym is holding a special discounted class. Talk about a great date idea!
The Hippest Multicultural Festival. Head to Allston Village this Sunday for a day of entertainment and fun at the Allston Village Street Fair. Perfect for all ages and of course, your beloved pooch.
Art and Breakfast. This weekend, join artists in Jamaica Plain for the 18th Annual Jamaica Plain Open Studios. This Saturday, artists will be gathering with the community for breakfast prior to the gallery openings. A great chance to mingle with the art community!
So many great events this weekend. How will you be spending your time? Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at email@example.com.
