The Weekender: October 21-23

A gorgeous fall weekend is upon us! We’re so excited for some down time, a few parties and plenty of time with family and friends. What are you looking forward to? Here are our picks for a fabulous weekend. Enjoy!

Food and Fiction. We don’t need a big reason to head to Verrill Farm in Concord. We just love it there. This Saturday, though, there’s a special reason – a food tasting and book signing event with Katherine Hall Page and other authors.

Spooky Woof! Head to the Esplanade tomorrow for a day of sunshine (hopefully!), dogs and fabulous costumes. It’s sure to be an amazing – and entertaining time.

Fashion + Flea. This weekend, bring your bargaining self to Somerville for a day of flea market fun. We adore flea markets, antiques and anything vintage. The Top Shelf Flea Market sounds like a blast!

Lobster Rolls + Regatta = Perfect Day Along the Charles River. The Head of the Charles Regatta is this weekend – get excited! Join hundreds of thousands of fans and watch the competition along the Charles. Also, if you’re craving your daily dose of seafood, Island Creek Oyster Bar will be there, serving up delicious lobster rolls and oyster sliders.

Food Truck Festival. We all love food trucks, right? Nowadays, there is something to please everyone’s palate. The trend has swept across the country and has really created a strong stance here in Boston. This weekend, head to Suffolk Downs for the Food Truck Festival, complete with an afternoon of live horse racing.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. And as always, have a fabulous weekend!
