The Weekender: November 25-28

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration yesterday. Many people are lucky enough have 3 days off this weekend. We’re grateful that the weather is wonderful and the calendar is jam packed with things to do. Here are our recommendations.

Shop til You Drop. Black Friday, Plaid Friday, and lots of sales and discounts throughout the entire weekend. If you need to start your holiday shopping, this weekend is the perfect time.

Food Coma. Yesterday was all about the Thanksgiving feast, and now you’ll probably spend the next few days consuming all of the leftovers from the meal. Turn that leftover turkey into a new recipe, and when you wake up from your tryptophan induced nap, we suggest going for a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather predicted for the weekend.

Craft Festivals. If you’d prefer to buy gifts that are handmade, there are lots of holiday craft markets taking place this weekend including the Downtown Crossing Holiday Market, Festival Fete, Cultural Survival Bazaar, and the Hingham Shipyard Holiday Market.

Holiday Happenings. Most people consider the Day After Thanksgiving to be the official start of the holiday season. Get into the spirit by purchasing tickets to the Nutcracker ballet, admiring the ZooLights at the Stone Zoo, or attending the Harvard Square tree lighting ceremony to kick off Sparklefest.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. As always, have a fantastic weekend!
