The Weekender: December 2-4

Happy December! The holiday season has officially begun. This weekend, there are so many fabulous events taking place around the city. It will be a busy weekend, that’s for sure! Here are our top picks.

Holiday Strolls. There are so many holiday strolls this weekend – we can hardly keep track! This evening kicks off with festivities in Fort Point (including the holiday party and art opening at Twelve Chairs) and the North End, Newbury Street will be in the holiday spirit tomorrow afternoon (where one of our favorites, Salon Acote, will be offering $20 off any service (excluding blowouts) and 30% off retail merchandise all day long!). There will be special offers, entertainment and complimentary treats at many shops! If you are in the mood for even more shopping, head to Cambridge for the Cultural Survival Bazaar.

SoWa Artists Guild. Go to the South End tonight and support local artists (and admire a lot of talent) as the studios at 450 Harrison Avenue are open to the public in celebration of the first friday.

A Christmas Carol. This weekend, Copley Place will be decking the halls with  music. For the next few days, local choirs will be performing your favorite holiday songs. For more information, be sure to visit Copley Place on facebook. Also, you can help the Boston Symphony Orchestra attempt to break a Christmas caroling record!

Rabbit Hop. There’s still time to see one of your favorite childhood stories come to life. The Velveteen Rabbit opens tomorrow!

Mayor’s Holiday Special. Be sure to follow Mayor Menino for the best holiday happenings. Including $10 off at one of these participating restaurants. Also happening this weekend is The Annual Senior Craft Show. Support the local community!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. As always, have a fantastic weekend!
