The Weekender: January 27-29

TGIF! As this week comes to a rainy end, we’re ready to enjoy the weekend. Here are a few things we suggest adding to your calendar.

Raise Your Glass. Attend a glass blowing demonstration and sip some wine at Diablo Glass School on Saturday night. On Sunday, shop at the Drill Hall Flea Market while sipping drinks from the Cafe at the Somerville Armory bar. Mohegan Sun hosts the Sun WineFest 2012 from Friday-Sunday complete with food demos and wine tasting.

Breakfast for Lunch. This weekend you can brunch for a good cause. During the Super Hunger Brunch, various restaurants are serving brunch and proceeds will benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank.

American Idiot. The Green Day inspired musical is running at the Boston Opera House until Sunday afternoon.

Museums and Music. The Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum is hosting its Sunday Concert Series. This weekend’s show features an a capella  quartet with a wide range of musical styles.

Year of the Dragon. Celebrate the Chinese New Year in Boston during the Chinatown parade on Sunday afternoon. Stop by Fóumami where the Asian sandwich shop will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with food specials throughout the weekend.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Enjoy your weekend!
