The Weekender: February 3-5

Happy weekend! We don’t know about you, but we are so excited that the weekend is finally here. Our top picks are listed below. Enjoy!

Boston Does Local Art. Join Proof Gallery tomorrow for what is expected to be an inspirational afternoon. Three Boston artists each choose another local artist to exhibit with, exposing the public to some great new work.

The Grandest Football Day. Whether you are rooting for the Pats or Giants (we’ll forgive you), the Superbowl is a fun day for all. Delicious food to munch on, beer, and of course friends make the day a hit. Will you be watching this year? GO PATS!

Burrito Bowl II. This Saturday, Boston chefs will be creating their signature burrito (which will be created in honor of their favorite NFL city) in hopes of claiming the title of best burrito.

A New Kind of Silent. Did you see The Artist? It has quickly leapt to the top of my favorite movie list. Well, this weekend, you can take in more of early filmmaking with Alloy Orchestra and their newest compilation for short silent movies.

To the Theatre. Caryl Churchill’s 1983 play, Fen, is about the grueling work of British farm workers, who happened to be mostly women. Another reason to go (as if you needed one)? The production will take place in The Factory Theatre at the Piano Factory.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Enjoy your weekend!
