The Weekender: March 16-18

Happy Friday! Will you be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this weekend? We can’t wait to wear green and drink a little beer. Plus, spring is definitely on its way. We couldn’t be happier! Here are our picks for a fantastic weekend.

St. Patrick’s Day, South Boston Style. There’s no better way to celebrate this beloved holiday than heading to South Boston for the parade. The weather is looking quite promising for Sunday, too, making it all the better to spend time outside. For even more St. Patrick’s Day fun, be sure to check out boston.com’s guide.

Dine Out. Restaurant Week begins this Sunday, so go ahead and make your plans early! Which restaurants top your must-try list?

Do the Folkdance. This weekend, the 36th annual Israel Folkdance Festival will take place in Cambridge. Troupes from across the country come together to showcase their moves.

Arts in Paradise City. With the Back Bay power outage at the beginning of this week, we’re in need of a little retail therapy. This weekend, head out of the city for an afternoon in Marlborough. The Paradise City Arts Festival includes a great lineup of arts and crafts.

James and the Giant Peach. I loved this story growing up. If you did too, you’ll want to check out the production put on by Boston Children’s Theatre. Opening performance takes place this weekend!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful and safe weekend.
