The Weekender: March 1-3

the weekender

Happy March 1st! It feels so exciting to welcome a new month. We’re inching our way through winter. Before we know it, flowers will be blooming and we’ll be spending many afternoons outside drinking prosecco. A girl can dream, right?

There’s lots of fun to be had this weekend. Here are our top picks for this March weekend.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Harpoon! We love Harpoon; it’s local, it’s delicious. Have you been to their new Beer Hall? It is so much fun – and might just be our favorite new spot. This weekend, celebrate the old fashioned Harpoon way with the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, happening tonight and tomorrow.

617. It’s never a dull moment at the Gypsy Bar! If you’re in the mood for a little live music, join 6one7 Productions along with Case and Point tonight.

One Nation, Under Fed. This weekend marks the opening of “A Place at the Table”, a documentary that questions why 50 million americans are on the brink of hunger. To find out where you can catch a screening, be sure to visit the film’s website.

Pig! It’s National Pig Day. Did you know that? We suggest celebrating at Harvard Square’s Henrietta’s Table.

Start Off on the Right Foot. Join Athleta’s Newbury Street location tomorrow for “Rise and Shine Yoga” at 9am followed by tips from Naturopathic Doctor, Catherine O’Halloran, from 10am-1pm.

Also, this week we welcomed Laura Chassaigne as Contributing Editor! If you haven’t had a chance to learn about Laura yet, check out our Q & A.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Enjoy your weekend!
