Farewell to Downtown’s Windsor Button

A Boston institution since 1936, Windsor Button has lost their lease and will be closing. If your grandmother sewed, this is probably where she bought her needles and thread, and of course buttons! While in the past there were 10 other stores, for the last two decades, the original Boston location of Windsor Button at Temple Place has been the only remaining outlet. More recently expanded to include knitting supplies, the store has temptations for all kinds of crafters.

Support them as they close up shop. Everything is on sale, 20%-50% off. Windsor Button, we are so sad to see you go!

Windsor Button, 35 Temple Place, Boston, (617) 482-4969. Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri: 10 am – 6 pm; Thurs 10 am–7 pm; Sat 10 am–5:30 pm ; closed Sundays.

I remember my mom talking about Windsor Button when I was little! So very sad that the last shop is closing its doors.
