The Weekender: April 12-14

the weekender

Can you believe it is already mid-April? Time sure does fly. We’re hoping for more beautiful spring days ahead like this past Tuesday when the temperature hovered above seventy degrees. Pure heaven, if you ask us! There’s lots of fun to be had this upcoming weekend, especially with the energy that surrounds Monday’s Boston Marathon. Here are our top picks for the weekend.

Take a Day Trip. Now that buds are planted and starting to bloom, it’s a perfect time to head up to the North Shore. While there, grab some fried seafood and find a perfect spot along the water. Be sure to check out Rockport’s new boutique, Wicked Peacock. Don’t forget to bring home some taffy, too!

Put a Cork In It. Have you had a tough week? Just looking for a delicious glass of wine? Whatever the reason, a visit the The Urban Grape can help make the weekend feel all the more relaxing. Tonight, you could be swishing glasses of wine from Washington at The Urban Grape South End.

Boston In Bloom. Although the temperatures won’t be amazing this weekend, it’s still a great opportunity to take in spring. Walk along Back Bay’s Commonwealth Mall for a sweet sniff of the blooming magnolia trees, wander through the Boston Public Garden and along the Esplanade. We guarantee the fresh air and sweet buds will make you happy.

Jam Out. We’re big fans of Life Alive’s bowls and juices, especially when we need a little boost. Tonight, grab that boost along with free music! At their Cambridge location, music from The Splinters will start at 8pm.

A Night Circus. If you’re looking for a reason to wear a mask and have a little fun, consider attending the Boston Young Professionals Association’s Masquerade Ball this evening. Be prepared to dress in black, red or white – and greet the jester!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
