The Loft Sessions

The Loft Sessions are a series of gatherings in Fort Point, bringing together the visual and performing arts, philosophy, great food, and interesting conversation. We were able to go to the last session and had an amazing time – the evening was full of thought-provoking conversation, beautiful performances, delicious food from Flourish Boston, and music that made us get up and dance. This Saturday, the organizers have put together an event that promises to be just as great. The evening will begin with a discussion on the possibility of shifting culture through communication, led by Elizabeth Debold, a Harvard trained psychologist, and Tom Steininger, an evolutionary philosopher. The space will showcase art by youth involved with Artists for Humanity, an amazing non-profit based in Boston that helps young people grow as artists and find paid professional opportunities to use their creative talents. (Seriously, so cool.) Finally, The Stretch Collective will take the stage and perform their unique jazz-funk interpretations and mash-ups of ¬†Bob Marley, U2, Mumford and Sons and more. To keep the event intimate, ticket sales are limited, so don’t wait too long!

The Loft Session Saturday, June 1. Doors open at 7 pm, program begins at 7:30 pm. Studio Soto, 10 Channel Center Street, Boston. Tickets $15, available through The Loft Sessions website. Photos of the last Loft Session, including performance by dancer Khiara Bridges. Image Credit: Tara Jones Photography.
