The Weekender: June 28-30

boston-weekend-events

We’re soaking up June while we can – and this weekend is no exception. The forecast make look a bit dreary, but there’s lots of fun to be had around town. Our top picks include:

Calling All Tadpoles! The Boston Common Frog Pond wading pool opens for the season this weekend. Tomorrow from 11 am to 1 pm, there will be plenty of kid-friendly festivities and free ice cream!

Set Sail. The Boston Sailing Center will be hosting an open house this Saturday from 1-4 pm for all you sailing lovers and newbies.  Each boat will be captained by an experienced sailor, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenery.

City Dance Party! It’s not every day that Mass Ave. is closed for a dance party. This evening, grab your dancing shoes and head to Cambridge City Hall for the annual Cambridge Dance Party.

Dialogue + Music in Fort Point. The Loft Sessions are back this weekend! This Saturday’s event will include a conversation with Malia Lazu of Future Boston and Jason Talbot of Artists for Humanity. After the inspiring talk, you’ll want to sway along with music from The Stretch Collective.

Some Like It Spicy. Don’t miss Boston JerkFest this weekend – featuring savory Caribbean-inspired food and live music.

Get Buzzed. We’ve long loved The Beehive for their interesting cocktails. This summer, be sure to try out some of their seasonal drinks including the Queen Bee, which is a mix of vodka, fresh grapefruit, St. Germaine, and champagne!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
