Outside the Box!
We couldn’t be more excited for the new festival in town! Outside the Box, presenting nine days of free music and performing arts, starts on July 13th! The first year of this annual festival will include over 200 events, and will turn our favorite public spaces like the Boston Common and City Hall Plaza into open-air performance spaces. The events run the gamut from dance to theater, and musical performers include everything from classical to electronica. There are also a variety of events geared towards children, so there is really something for every one of us. Especially amazing: every single event of the festival is free!
There is even an Outside the Box app to keep you organized, allowing you to create your own schedule of events you don’t want to miss! (OK, we are officially impressed.) Plus, the Fork Lift Food Fest, “a festival within a festival,” will bring some of the best chefs from around the city to City Hall Plaza from July 18-21, where you can watch cooking demonstrations and buy tasting tickets to sample their cuisine. With a mission to make performance art accessible to everyone, this festival aims to bring our city together in a celebration of creativity. We can’t wait!
Outside the Box, events primarily on Boston Common and City Hall Plaza. July 13-21. All events are free. Visit the Outside the Box website for more information, and for updates follow them on twitter and facebook.
