The Weekender: July 12-14

the weekender

After an incredible holiday weekend, we’re looking forward to soaking up more of summer and the city this weekend. Here are our top picks:

Get Ready To Swap, Fellas! There’s something so fun (and earth-friendly) about swapping clothes with friends and like-minded fashionistas. This weekend, the focus is on menswear with Manswap, a collaborative event created by SoWa and The Swapaholics. Bow ties, here we come.

Dreams of Paris. Let’s be honest for a moment. I am always dreaming of Paris. Always. If you love the city of lights like I do, you won’t want to miss the book signing event for “The Little Paris Kitchen” by Rachel Khoo at Anthropologie on Saturday. The guest list is at a capacity, but can’t hurt to add your name to the wait list. In the meantime, I’m going to savor a croissant.

Dance in the Streets! There’s nothing like wide-open spaces – especially in the city. This weekend, join Circle the City for more than fifty free events and a day of biking, crafting, and dancing in the city streets.

Local Handmade Love. It’s finally arrived – the 6th Annual Boston Handmade Marketplace, taking place tomorrow from 3-7 pm. We’re constantly inspired by the incredible local talent and there’s nothing like supporting local makers.

Drinks and Dresses. This weekend, sip and chat with the co-founders of Tailour, a new online boutique bridging the gap between work and weekend wear. Plus, you’ll get a sneak peek of their new silk collection – oh la la.

The City Is Our Stage. The new festival, Outside the Box, kicks off  Saturday with nine days of free events (over 200 in total)! Some of our favorite places like the Boston Common and City Hall Plaza will become performance areas for dance, theater, musical performers, and more. There’s nothing like summer in the city.

Mais, Oui! Bastille Day is just around the corner on July 14. There are lots of great events around town – and our top picks include this street party in Harvard Square and the 4th annual bash at The Beehive!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
