The Weekender: July 26-28

the weekender

After the recent heat wave, we’re relishing in today’s cooler temperature. The rain can be so refreshing and it’s a great reminder to slow down. As always, there are so many great events happening around town this weekend. Here are our top picks:

Summer Arts Weekend. Ah, summer in the city. Summer Arts Weekend is one of our favorite events; it brings together talent across the arts for Bostonians to enjoy for free, including a lot of local performers. This year’s activities include performances by Della Mae and Angelique Kidjo, Saturday After Dark, and the Baroque Brunch! To see the full lineup, go here.

The Davis Flea! If you love flea markets, nothing quite compares to the hunt for a great bargain. This Sunday, visit The Davis Flea from 10 am to 4 pm.  We’re especially excited for the Shoestring and Red Bird Vintage pop-up shop  (their last official one of the year).

Play with Art. This weekend, art will be all over the city, thanks to Summer Arts Weekend and FIGMENT Boston. Along the Greenway, you’ll find interactive art installations, performances, and music. The idea behind FIGMENT is to blur the lines between spectator and artist by inviting participation.

Evening at the Theater. This weekend’s weather calls for some indoor entertainment. We highly recommend catching Love, Loss, and What I wore, produced by the Hub Theatre Company of Boston. There are only seven performances, so be sure to catch it while you can.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
