Concerts in the Courtyard
It is no secret that the MFA is one of our absolute favorite places. It is large enough to always find something new, and small enough that you can revisit interesting pieces again and again. Plus, during the hot summer days, those stone hallways and airy rooms are so cool!
Wednesday concerts in the courtyard are another reason to visit the MFA in the summer months. The five Wednesdays this August are no exception. Tonight, Peter Yarrow (from Peter, Paul, and Mary!) celebrates folk music. The concert is sold out, but tickets sometimes open up on the day of the event. August 15, C.J. Chenier brings his mix of Lousiana zydeco, Motown, and pop to the museum, while Julian Lage and Chris Eldridge bring their guitars to the courtyard the week after. The Los Angeles group La Santa Cecelia, visits on August 21 with their blend of Latin, rock, and world music, and the last Wednesday on the month will feature flamenco guitarist Juanito Pascual. Plenty of reasons to grab my picnic blanket and spend the evening at the MFA!
