Book Signing with Joanne Chang at Shake the Tree

Flour Too Joanne Chang 2013

There is something so satisfying about learning a new recipe. I find baking especially soothing – creating something with your own hands, each time understanding a little bit more the rules of science and proportions, and of course, enjoying the final result!

Joanne Chang’s Flour Bakery (in the South End, Central Square, the Back Bay, and Fort Point) has built a loyal following by perfecting classic indulgences like sticky buns, cupcakes, cookies, brioche, and tarts, plus sandwiches that keep the lunch crowd lining up. Recipes from her first cookbook, Flour, are included in the rotation in our own kitchens when we need a little something sweet (fyi: best molasses cookies ever!). We can’t wait to explore her new cookbook, Flour, Too, which includes more sweet treats as well as recipes for her most popular savory fare!

Flour Too COV

This Sunday afternoon, Shake the Tree in the North End invites you to meet Joanne Chang and take a look at her new book! Shake the Tree is an independent boutique stocking an eclectic selection of jewelry, gifts, decor, clothing, and a tempting array of cookbooks – it is one of our favorite places to browse and look for gifts. Joanne will be happy to chat and sign your books, and if you bake something from Flour and bring it in to share, you will get a 30% discount on Flour, Too! (How fun is that?!)

P.S. Shake the Tree offers $3 for 3 hour validated parking at the nearby Parcel 7 garage.

Book signing with Joanne Chang, Sunday, September 22, 1-2:30 pm. Shake the Tree, 67 Salem Street, North End. (617)742-0484.
