Revels RiverSing on the Charles River
This Sunday marks the 10th annual Revels RiverSing, an open-air celebration along the Charles River in Cambridge. Usher out the summer season and welcome fall with a night of music and revelry.
The event begins at 5 pm in Winthrop Park near Harvard Square, with face painting, and live music. Join in the parade to the Charles River at 5:45 pm, or meet the revelers at around 6 pm by the Weeks Bridge for communal singing and music. Participants include Noel Paul Stookey (from Peter, Paul, and Mary), the Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Cambridge poet Lo Galluccio, acrobats and street performers from Moonship Productions, Sara Peatie’s Puppeteers Cooperative, the larger-than-life butterflies of Gabriel Q and more. On the banks of the Charles, everyone is invited to join in singing familiar folk songs with along with jazz saxophonist Stan Strickland. It promises to be a unique and magical evening!
