The Weekender: September 20-22

the weekender

Hooray, Friday is here! We are getting ready for a trip to the Cape with family. I love early fall at the beach! There are so many great things to do this weekend, in and out of the city – enjoy!

Head to the Market. Take a day trip up to Salisbury, MA to check out The Vintage Bazaar, at Pettengill Farm. They’ll have a wide variety of vendors selling vintage, antique, and handmade items (and be sure to say hi to our own Becky Brackett who will be there with Pop & Circumstance). Stop for apple picking at Smolak Farms on the way back!

Life is Good! The weekend festival brings music, arts, and activities to Canton, all for a good cause. Jack Johnson is always on our weekend playlist – here’s your chance to see him perform live!

Something Sweet. Pop by the North End boutique Shake the Tree on Sunday afternoon for a book signing with Flour chef Joanne Chang. Bake something to share and receive a discount off her newest book!

Shellfish Shindig. The Charles Square Legal Seafood’s is kicking off their annual Oyster Festival with a special Shellfish Shindig event on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Taste a variety of oysters ($1 each!) on the outside terrace.

Along the River. On Saturday, a gaggle of area food trucks will convene near the Harvard Stadium for the Charles River Food Truck Festival – yum! The Riverfest on Saturday at Assembly Row includes a lineup of live music, local artists, and fireworks at dusk. Then usher in the fall on Sunday with a night of music on the banks of the Charles with the Revels River Sing. This unique event sounds like the perfect way to celebrate the autumn equinox!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
