The Weekender: September 27-29

the weekender

Woo, it is Friday! We’re not sure about you, but it has been a long week, and we’re more than ready to welcome the weekend. The forecast is looking sunny and we’re excited to get out and enjoy a few of our favorite fall activities.

To the Orchard! It is the perfect weekend to go apple picking! Our personal favorites are Smolak Farms in North Andover and Honey Pot Hill in Stow. There’s nothing like a crisp afternoon scouting out the best apples, followed by hot cider and a donut!

Shop All American. Hit the historic SOWA power station at 540 Harrison Avenue to scope out American Field, an All American Trade Show with a wide variety of vendors. Some of our favorites like Bow & Drape and DressCode Boston will be there representing.

On the Runway. To celebrate the start of Boston Fashion Week, pop in to the Kicks n Kush Pop Up Shop Tour on Newbury Street this evening from 6-9 pm. If you can’t make tonight’s festivities, you’re in luck! Tomorrow, 19th Amendment will be hosting a day of Flash Fashion Shows and later this week you could catch up with fashion week at one of these other events.

Jazz Block Party. We’re thankful to live in a city with so much culture, especially as it relates to music. Berklee College of Music is always offering incredible performances, from students and alumni alike. This weekend, head to the South End for the 13th Annual BeanTown Jazz Festival. This year’s festival includes the Will Calhoun Trio, Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott, the Matt Savage Quartet, and many more.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend!
