The Weekender: October 18-20

the weekender

We’ve had the most incredible weather this past week, and the good news is that it is here to carry us through the weekend. Here are our top picks for a great weekend ahead.

Coxswains Unite! The beloved Head of the Charles Regatta is this weekend. Since 1965, the Regatta has attracted thousands of visitors and participants to the Charles River for the weekend’s events. We have no doubt that the Charles River will be an incredible spot to enjoy this fall weekend.

Dorchester Studios Open Their Doors. This weekend, the Dorchester community comes together for an annual art celebration. Dorchester Open Studios will kick off with a performance this evening at Black Box Theatre in Codman Square, and will continue from noon to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday with pop-up galleries, street art in the making, and more.

Read between the Lines. The Boston Book Festival will take place in Copley Square this weekend. The annual event celebrates the incredible power and impact of words, while fostering the culture of reading. There will over 150 presenters, live music, a street fair, and seminars.

Dress for Success Pop-Up.  A favorite local non-profit, Dress for Success Boston, is hosting a charitable pop-up event with InStyle Essentials today and tomorrow in Copley Square. For every white button-down shirt purchase, InStyle Essentials will donate a shirt to a disadvantaged woman transitioning into the workforce.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
