The Weekender: October 25-27

the weekender

It’s Friday! We are so glad to welcome the weekend. There are lots of fun things going on, plus we plan to spend some time strolling around in this crisp fall air! Here are our top picks for this weekend:

Wine Riot. It’s back! Learn all about wine-making and tasting while sampling as much wine as you like. Experts will be on hand to offer tips for understanding wine, and a mobile app helps you keep track of what you like and want to find again. With 250 different wines available, everyone can learn something new! This is a popular event, but tickets are still available for Saturday afternoon.

Southie Pop-Up Shop. Our wonderful contributor Becky Brackett is one of the participants of this Saturday’s Pop-Up at the Foxhole, a yard sale style pop-up event in South Boston! Enjoy amazing fall cocktails from Flask and Funnel and snacks from Lauren Wells Events while you peruse homemade goods, vintage decor, floral bouquets, and more. Stop by between 10 am and 2 pm – with these creative talents at the helm we know it will be a really special event!

Spacesuit Technology for your Closet. Ministry of Design takes engineering to your closet with their shirts and pants made using high tech performance fabrics. Stop by their Leather District shop today and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm for their in-store sale, where you can expect discounts, drinks and prototype giveaways.

Trick or Treat! Get Halloween started with Halloween on the Harbor. Begin the evening at Tamo bar in the Seaport Hotel to check-in and pick up a trick or treat bag. From 7-10 pm tonight, a $5 tickets gets you access to the duck boats bringing participants to and from the 12 participating venues in the Seaport for cocktails and treats. There will be prizes for best costume, so it is sure to be a fun crowd!

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
