Follain, A New Kind of Beauty Store
Although the falling snow is pretty, the below freezing temperatures are unkind to my skin. This time of year, it is even more important to have a nourishing beauty regime.
Thankfully, Tara Foley opened doors to her natural beauty shop, Follain, a few months ago. Splashes of white and marble, soothing succulents and leafy green plants are the backdrop. As you enter, you’ll be whisked away with the scent of jasmine, mint, and lavender. Even more impressive than the well-thought out design is Tara’s passion for natural beauty products.
Having worked at a lavender farm in France and a skincare manufacturer in Maine, Tara has amassed an abundance of knowledge as it relates to health, beauty and the use of natural ingredients. Armed with an MBA from Babson, Tara set out on a mission to provide knowledge and better products to Bostonians. Tara’s wide range of knowledge along with her warm and thoughtful nature makes her personal advice feel like tips from a trusted friend.
In addition to the many products which you’ll only find locally on Follain’s shelves, there are several large canisters of refillable liquid soap, with available scents changing regularly. In addition to lotions, serums, and soaps, Follain offers makeup and other spa products. You won’t find full product lines, though, as the entire shop is curated to offer only the best of each brand. A personal favorite of mine is Natick-based Shamanuti and their pumpkin enzyme mask. Since being introduced, I’ve quickly become an avid fan.
