We are such fans of the crew behind Island Creek Oyster in Kenmore Square, and so were eagerly anticipating the opening of their new Fort Point venture, Row 34. Named for the row of oysters at their oyster farm that produces distinctive tasting molluscs, Row 34 aims to be a “workingman’s oyster bar.” The menu is inspired by traditional oyster bar favorites and riffs on classic New England dishes. There is plenty of wine to accompany the food, but in addition the menu features a large  selection of American and European craft beer. We tried some that were truly unique, including a salted wheat beer that we were told is particularly delicious paired with oysters.

While the menu at Row 34 features some delicious main courses, my favorites were definitely the appetizers. The tuna crudo with avocado and lime (pictured above) and the black bass ceviche with coconut milk and grilled pineapple were amazing – I can’t wait to get back and try them again! Have you been to Row 34 yet? It is so exciting to see Fort Point become a great destination for dinner.

P.S. If you are looking for somewhere to watch the game on Superbowl Sunday, the chef has created a special menu of spicy and salty snacks for the occasion (including fried chicken wings, lobster roe popcorn, and Old Bay onion rings.
