The Weekender: February 7-9

We hope you are enjoying the blue skies this Friday! Here are our top picks for this weekend:

For Chocolate Conoisseurs. Whole Foods at Charles River Plaza is hosting 20+ of their chocolate suppliers on Saturday afternoon from 12-2 pm, and they are bringing free samples! Sounds like a good way to sweeten the weekend grocery run!

Bee Sweet. Stop by the North End shop Shake the Tree on Saturday afternoon between 2-4 pm to sample Apotheker chocolate sweetened with raw honey. Half of the local chocalate-making couple, Russ Apotheker, will be there to share the sweet treats. Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe will also be offering hot chocolate – spiked for the grown-ups! Chocolate is a great Valentine’s Day gift, and we always love browsing the shelves at Shake the Tree.

Open Studios. Even in the cold weather, South End’s SOWA neighborhood has so much to offer. We love their First Friday Open Studios, a fun opportunity to stroll the artist workspaces at 450 Harrison Ave. Join the party this Friday, from 5-9 pm.

Champagne Sipping. There is another reason to love the first Friday of the month. Each First Friday, a Champagne producer visits the Four Season’s Bristol Bar to offer complimentary tastings of their offerings. Champagne is my absolute favorite drink, and it is so fun to try new labels. Plus, on a chilly winter evening, the Bristol Lounge is just about the coziest place. Tastings from 5:30-7 pm.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
