The Weekender: February 14-16

the-weekender

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! We’ve always loved Valentine’s Day, whether single or coupled up, because it is so nice to have a holiday all about LOVE! We hope your weekend is filled with friendship and fun, and maybe a little chocolate.

Revisit a Classic. Some things just never get old. The Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square is showing the 1940s film Casablanca this weekend – we love it more each time we see it.

Treat Yourself Well. We all know February can be a bit dreary. It is the perfect time to spoil yourself a little and indulge in something that will brighten your mood. I put together a little list of ways to treat yourself well in Cambridge, including hot chocolate, books, and jazz. Take a look here!

Sway to Slow Jams. Girls’ Pint Out and Offsite Events are throwing a Valentine’s Day Party downtown tonight at Silvertone. There will be drinks, there will be dancing, there will be slow jams. For info, check out the event facebook page.

Visit the City’s Favorite Artworks. Boston Loves Impressionism! We were invited to vote for our favorite works, and today the special crowd–curated exhibit featuring the top picks opens at the MFA! Lots of exciting events mark the opening weekend.

Happy Birthday! Gather Here turns three this week! To celebrate, they are having a party at the store on Sunday from noon to 6 pm, with 25% off any one item, free temporary tattos, a s’mores bar, lots of demonstrations and other fun. (Did we mention the s’mores bar? Yum.)Whisk pop up?

Wine–Tasting Weekend. This weekend is the Wine Expo at the Seaport! There will be so many wines to sample. If you are interesting in going, don’t forget to use the promo code SOCIAL for 10% off.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
