Earth Day in Boston

nck

Spring has officially sprung – and with it the magnolia trees are in full bloom. This is a beautiful time to be outside in Boston and celebrate the incredible nature that exists within our city limits. If you have time to get out on this Earth Day, here are a few recommendations for celebrating Boston’s beauty.

Take a stroll. There’s no better way to smell the fresh blooms than by strolling through the Boston Public Garden, Comm Ave. Mall or along the waterfront. I love to bring along a camera (even an iPhone will do the trick) and capture photos of the beautiful colors that make up spring. If you have more time, we love the Arnold Arboretum, Castle Island, and Jamaica Pond. It’s incredible how peaceful it can feel within the city.

Grab a seat. Patio season has officially arrived – hallelujah! Bring on the refreshing drinks and long evenings outside. We recommend the patios at Legal Crossing (its inaugural season!), Picco, and Canary Square – to name a few.

Spring clean your beauty routine. As spring arrives, I find myself wanting to clean out my closet and clear all the dust bunnies from my house. On Earth Day, I’m taking a closer look at my medicine cabinet and finding natural ways to take care of my skin. I’m currently obsessed with Boston-based Shamanuti. Their seaweed toner is so refreshing. Also loving the scrubs from Organic Bath Co. – time to scrub away that winter skin.

Create movement through conversation. The second annual Sustainability unConference is happening this evening from 5 to 10 pm at District Hall. The unConference is intended to spark out-of-the-box ideas through participant-proposed topics. Conversations will range from Beekeeping in the City to Food Entrepreneurship. You can register for the free event here.

Happy Earth Day! xo
