The Weekender: April 25-27

Let’s sit back and just relish in the splendor that is late-April. Tiny blooms are emerging throughout the city and the Commonwealth Avenue’s magnolia trees are always incredible. Here are our top picks for a great weekend.

Patio Season! It’s finally arrived – the city’s beloved patio season. This Sunday, The Sinclair is celebrating the kick-off of al fresco dining with live music, beer and seasonal punches, as well as snacks. For more information and to purchase tickets, please call The Sinclair at 617-547-5200.

Spring Cleaning. If you’re feeling like giving back this Saturday morning, consider joining the 3,000 other volunteers as they clean up the Charles River. This annual event helps to maintain our beautiful river and paths that run alongside it. If you’re interested in participating, go here for more information.

Art is Everywhere. Art is being made all the time. The opportunity to take a peek inside the artist’s studio is fascinating and inspiring. This weekend, Brookline Open Studios will take place at the Brookline Main Library. Don’t forget your sketch pad – you may walk away feeling ultra-inspired!

Film Fest. The Independent Film Festival of Boston continues until April 30, so there’s still some time to catch a few flicks this weekend. Screenings take place at the Brattle Theatre, Somerville Theatre, and Coolidge Corner Theatre. IFFBoston presents a mix of features, documentaries, and shorts. In addition to the entertainment, you’ll be supporting our local community of filmmakers.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
