The Weekender: May 2-4

Now this is what spring should feel like!I hope you are enjoying the beautiful, warm weather today. Here are our picks for this weekend:

Spring in the South End. SOWA Open Market is back! Sundays at SOWA are one of our absolute favorite ways to spend a weekend day, and we are so so happy to see the beginning of a new season! There will be 130 artists and designers, 70 farm and food vendors, and 25 food trucks at the opening day this Sunday, 10am-4pm.

SOWA Art Walk. In addition to the market, this Sunday is the SOWA Art Walk! From 11am-6pm, studios and galleries through the neighborhood are opening their doors and welcoming visitors. Such a great way to spend a Sunday.

Oysters and Wine. Also on Sunday, Island Creek Oyster Bar is hosting their quarterly wine and oyster tasting event, Terroir and Merroir 2.0. Sounds like a good pairing!

Hats and Horse Races. The Kentucky Derby is this weekend! We’ve never been, but imagine we would like checking out the over-the-top hats with a mint julep in hand! There are a few Derby themed parties happening around town, including this celebration at Legal Harborside and this Derby-themed fundraiser at Lincoln.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
