The Weekender: June 6-8

weekender

After a rainy (yet still beautiful!) week, we’re looking forward to getting out of the house. There are so many things happening in town this June weekend – here are our top picks.

Ministry of Supply Takes on Newbury. From June to August, the tech-meets-fashion brand, Ministry of Supply will be calling 299 Newbury Street home.  To celebrate this new space, join the Ministry of Supply team for beverages and light bites from 6 to 10 pm tonight.

Food Trucks and Art. This Saturday, twenty-two food trucks will be putting the brakes on at Somerville’s Assembly Row. From 11 am to 4 pm, there will be food truck action, live music, and several tents including a beer tent. After you’ve had some food, stop by ASSEMBLED: The Handmade Arts Market, which is kicking off their summer season.  We love supporting local artists and makers!

Paint the Hill! Professional painters will be painting “en plein air” across Beacon Hill this Saturday for Paint the Hill. From 10 am to 4 pm, you’ll be able to watch the painters and then purchase their work during an evening reception. Note: tickets for the reception are $25, available here.

Make it a SoWa Weekend. On the first Friday of each month, artists and shops open their doors for SoWa First Friday. From 5 to 9 pm, peruse the 60+ artist galleries and experience this great neighborhood.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
