The Weekender: June 13-15

weekender

Hooray for Friday! Even though the forecast today calls for “drenching rain” (yikes!), it looks like we will have beautiful weather over the weekend. I am hoping to get in a drive to the beach tomorrow – enjoying the amazing local beaches is one of my goals this summer! Do you have a favorite? Sunday we are planning to get together for a Father’s Day barbecue. Sometimes the simplest things are the best! Here are few great things going on this weekend.

Local Brews. This weekend local beer makers are sharing their craft at the Sustainable Business Network’s Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest in Somerville. There will be plenty of beer, cider, mead, and other artisan beverages, and the weekend also includes a session on homebrewing for the ambitious DIYers!

Food Trucks + Beer + Live Music. For the first Fork in the Road food truck festival, more than 15 local food trucks will be at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion on Saturday, along with Harpoon beer and live music, from noon to 10pm. Admission is $15 – for more information take a look at the festival website.

Boston Pride. The Boston Pride Parade starts on Saturday at 11am in Copley Square. The parade ends at City Hall Plaza, where the party will continue throughout the day. For a complete list of Pride week events, take a look at their calendar.

Birthday Bash. 103.3 fm is throwing themselves a birthday party, and everyone is invited to this free event. A lineup of musicians including Iggy Azalea and Little Mix will take the stage at Gilette Stadium in Foxboro. Find out more on their website.

Clambake in the City. Pier 6 in Charlestown is celebrating Father’s Day with an all-you-can-eat clambake – what a fun idea! I haven’t been to Pier 6 yet, but have been meaning to try it. Their waterfront location is gorgeous.

Do you have an upcoming event that you’d like to see listed on The Weekender? To be considered, send us a note at info@thebostondaybook.com. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
